Digital transformation is creating new ways for universities to connect talent with the world of work. On 17–18 September 2026, Politeknik Negeri Malang (POLINEMA), together with SeeMeSOL, held the POLINEMA Virtual Career Fair 2026, bringing students, alumni, jobseekers, and employers together through one virtual platform.
Across the two-day event, 1,524 jobseekers registered and 1,180 attended the career fair, representing a 75% show-up rate. Activity peaked between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM as participants explored job opportunities and engaged with employers online.
36 companies and 570 career opportunities
A total of 36 companies participated, offering 232 job listings and 570 available positions. Jobseekers submitted 2,342 applications during the virtual career fair.
Engagement went beyond applications. Eighty-nine candidates were shortlisted, employers sent three interview requests, and one was accepted by a candidate. The platform also recorded 6,268 job views, 14,626 company booth visits, and 32 live chat sessions between jobseekers and employers.
Bringing the career fair experience online
Through the virtual career fair, participants could explore vacancies, visit company booths, engage through live chat, and manage applications online. For universities and employers, the digital format also extends reach while providing engagement data that can support post-event evaluation.
PT Behaestex, PT Santos Jaya Abadi, and PT Tirta Fesindo Jaya (Mayora) received the highest number of applications. PT ISH, PT Mega Global (Kokola Group), and PT Behaestex recorded the highest booth traffic.
AI tools supporting career readiness
Participants also began using AI-powered career tools to strengthen their preparation before applying. During the event, 20 AI credits were used across 10 transactions for profile evaluation, profile summaries, and cover letter improvements.
This activity shows how a digital career fair can go beyond connecting candidates with vacancies. Technology can also support jobseekers in building stronger profiles before engaging with employers.

POLINEMA Virtual Career Fair 2026 demonstrates how collaboration between educational institutions, employers, and technology platforms can expand access to career opportunities.
